Today's episode deals with childhood trauma in schools, centered around the recent events in Nashville, TN. Host Collier Landry shares what it was like at his school the day he found out about the murder of his mother.

Nashville Events:
On Monday, March 27, 2023, a shooter opened fire at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, killing six people. The shooter, identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, was a former student at the school and arrived at the scene at around 9:53 a.m. armed with two "assault-style" weapons and a handgun. She entered the school at around 10:11 a.m. by shooting out the glass doors of a side entrance.
The police received three emergency calls reporting an active shooter at around 10:13 a.m. and arrived on the scene approximately eight minutes later. Within four minutes of their arrival, the shooter was taken down. The police have not yet determined the shooter's motive, but they have stated that she did not target specific victims.
The shooting lasted approximately 15 minutes, during which Hale walked through the school's hallways, checking doors and briefly going into an office. The surveillance video ends with the shooter firing shots into another room.
In response to the shooting, church leaders in the area quickly mobilized to provide support and prayer for the school and the families of the victims. The remaining students were locked down at the school and later ferried to a safe location to be reunited with their parents.
After the shooting, investigators found a sawed-off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence in Hale's home. Hale's parents were unaware that she had obtained most of the firearms, believing that she had only purchased one gun and had sold it. It was later determined that Hale legally purchased seven firearms from five different local gun stores, three of which were used in the shooting.
The Nashville police response to the shooting has come under scrutiny following a similar incident in Uvalde, Texas, where law enforcement took 70 minutes to storm a classroom after a shooting. However, in Nashville, the police response time was approximately eight minutes, and the shooter was taken down within four minutes of the police arriving on the scene.
The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and the families of the victims are receiving support from the community. The incident has reignited the debate over gun control and school safety in the United States.

Gwyneth Paltrow was being sued by Terry Sanderson, a retired optometrist, for causing him severe injuries during a skiing incident in 2016. Paltrow counter-sued, claiming Sanderson's fault. The trial recently ended, and both sides' legal teams claim media attention has affected the case. Legal experts say both sides made mistakes, and some claim that Sanderson's lawyer "bonded" with Paltrow while she was on the stand. There is speculation as to why Sanderson waited three years to file.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) officially ruled Steven Smith's case a homicide and reopened the investigation. Smith died on July 8, 2015, in a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle accident. A rape kit was done on Smith's body hours after the discovery, but it was never analyzed, and there is no confirmation of where the kit is or why it was ordered.
There has been public discussion about the possible connection between Kohberger's sister losing her job and her brother's involvement in a criminal case. A recent Vanity Fair article outlined the fever pitch of conjecture surrounding the Idaho Four case.

This raises the question of whether the families of criminals are victims as well. Buster Murdaugh’s girlfriend threatened to sue media and online sleuths for following her around and pretending to be media.

There is an update in the case of Michael Joseph Vaughan, who went missing in Fruitland, Idaho, in 2021. Sarah Wondra, a neighbor of the Vaughans, has been found competent to face her charges and has three additional felony charges filed against her. LE claims that these charges are unrelated to Michael. Sarah has two hearings scheduled in April.
